The Nikkei Student Union is a cultural club at the California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. Also known as NSU, this organization is a Japanese American cultural, community and social club that exists in order to bring people of common interest and background together, while preserving and advancing Japanese American history and culture. Founded in the Spring of 2008, the Nikkei Student Union is a non-discriminatory organization that welcomes all individuals interested in the Japanese American culture. On campus, the Nikkei Student Union is a part of the Asian and Pacific Islander Student Center as well as the Multi Cultural Council. NSU is also a part of the Intercollegiate Nikkei Council, which is an organization that brings together other Japanese American collegiate groups in order to collaborate in joint events, contribute to the community, as well as create opportunities for networking. As a non-discriminatory group, the Nikkei Student Union hosts many events on and off campus, including General Meetings that are held Thursday nights at 7pm at the Bronco Student Center.
